Welcome to the Portsmouth Festival Choir website.
The choir will be giving three concerts in the 2009-2010 season, including a performance of the Choral Suite from Jenkins' Armed Man. There will be a workshop on this piece a fortnight before the concert in January. Workshop participants will be invited to join the choir to perform in the concert in Portsmouth Anglican Cathedral on January 23rd.
Other highlights for the forthcoming season include Vaughan Williams' Dona Nobis Pacem in Portsmouth Anglican Cathedral and Verdi's Requiem with the University choir at St Mary's Church Portsea. The final concert of the season will include Stainer's Crucifixion forming part of the Portsmouth Festivities.
Portsmouth Festival Choir rehearses on Monday evenings at the City of Portsmouth Girls' School between 7.15 and 9.15pm. If you are interested in joining the choir please contact the membership secretary Hilary Munro on 02392 470532.
